Where do I find clients?

Nowhere.

In the world of business, we often get caught up in the idea of “finding” clients.

We think there must be some secret place where these mythical beings congregate, just waiting for us to come and sell them our wares.

But the truth is, there is no magical bucket of clients waiting for you to discover them.

Clients are not passive entities waiting to be found.

Clients are people, just like you and me.

They are humans going about their daily lives trying to take care of needs and find some joy.

You won’t “find” them, You’ll CREATE them.

The key to creating clients is not to go out searching for them, instead, you go out to serve them.

You create a space where they can find you.

So how do you create this space?

It starts with showing up.

“But where, Tanya? Where are they?”

Here’s the secret…

They are where you choose to be.

YOU get to decide where to be and where to hang out.

Then you connect with those that are already congregating there.

It could be a social media platform, a forum, a blog site, a local networking event, or any other traffic source where YOU like to hang out and other humans gather.

Once you’ve found your traffic source (the place you like to be), the next step is to provide value to non-clients (humans that have not paid for your service yet).

Give your connections something that they find helpful, interesting, motivating and moves them to action.

Be generous with your knowledge and expertise.

Share tips, tricks, and insights that will help them solve a problem or achieve a goal.

As you begin to provide value, you will start to build trust with your audience.

They will begin to see you as an authority in your field, someone who understands their problem and can help them find a solution.

This is when the magic happens.

Clients will start to seek you out.

They will want to work with you because they trust you and believe that you can help them solve a problem and achieve their goals.

So, forget about finding clients.

Instead, focus on creating a space where they can find you.

Show up, provide value, and build trust.

Turn your “search” into “serve”.

Remember, clients are people first, and if you focus on serving them, the rest will follow.
